off-topic section in the Forum would be nice or stuff related to other games and music and pictures and stuff not game related
a official Discord for the game to would be nice
less people use forums these days in use Reddit or Discord instead anyway
Discord would probably be easier to manage than a forum
also you might want to update your secure status on the web cuz if you don't update it it's possible you'll be blocked from search results on Google

These already exist in The Inn of Brodgar. Please reserve the thread this post was in for its intended purpose rather than other requests.

Jorb has already said 'No' on this. Overall, Discord, while it has its benefits for communication, generally lacks a lot of things for official communication that an official website and forum lacks. There's been discussion threads on this already. And I'll say that, from personal experience, trying to get tech support and other customer support issues resolved via Discord has been anywhere from a bit of a mild headache to a severe blunt trauma to the head.

They do use Discord though, and they do talk with players on it, so why shouldn't there be one if that is the case? It doesn't make sense that they are speaking with only a few individual players on discord about things when there is already plenty of suggestions and criticisms that go ignored on the forum (and no I'm not even referring to myself in this case). Such private discussions lead to accusations of favouritism which is why the "jorb anal friends" section of the forum is no longer used as it once was.

Not to mention the fact that the moderation on the forum is basically non-existent, an official Discord might be easier to monitor in that regard.

There is an official unofficial discord that has 1000s of people from the playerbase in it and it is the only one of many haven-related servers that the devs are occasionally active in it too. You can get pretty immediate help from 100s of active players and there is always some nice discussion going on.

DMing the devs on discord is actually a pretty reliable way to get in contact with them, about as easy as a DM on the forums here.

Probably because they think that managing one would take up large amounts of their time, which they have only limited amount. I've been trying to tell them many times that this is necessarily not the case, as discord provides very good moderation tools for preventing trolls and such. Could have separate moderators kind of like on forums to take load off too.

also Discord has pretty good bot programs which will also help with some of the filth
