does it matter where i settle Quality resource wise?

So being years since I looked at H%H(sorry, but your combat and curio is still hard to get over)

It now seems that having the best resources doesn't really matter.

I know very little of the game now, but am thinking about getting back in it. I know from the past, you cood enhance the Q of dirt and clay to a degree.

Is there other resources that have Quality increasing formulas or workstations?

When I used to play, i would get descent survival and find good quality dirt or water. now I don't know if that matters any more?

It still matters at first but natural ressources can be improved or outnumbered by player actions.
Water with well and magic (xp)
clay with fine clays/ bone clays and such
dirt / soil with compost bin fueled with hq meat or vegetables ...
So it's not as "crucial" to have the best natural ressources as it was in the past, especially if you have access to good tools / public tools.
Survival still matters a lot for HQ animals (meat, bones etc) that you kill/ butcher.
Masonry is important for quality of stone / metal / clay products now, it differs from the past.
Carpentry for boards q, farming for tree q, no difference.

Quality race as far as i know is more or less a very grinding process now , quality of everything including the 3 basic ressources improves with time and dedication to repeat again and again this grinding work. (well ... it always was a grinding process, but now quality improves faster with these basic ressource that we can produce and improve beyond natural ones)

For example you won't find natural ressources over q100, and probably not over q60 that is not already claimed (except soil maybe which is easily best when homemade). But most big factions and even middle sized villages have qualities that is far over q100, 200, 300... etc (maybe not for water but world is still pretty fresh). One of the good way to improve your own quality is to find a market / public tools near you (or even ... build a fresh base not far from such a market).

tldr : quality of natural ressource doesn't matter a lot anymore because they can be crafted / improved by players, but it's a hard work

HQ water is a lot easier to get now because visitor gates allow public wells and also taking water from the lake/ river doesn't drop quality

There is more than one craftable clay now, and some of them even take bricks as ingredients :!:

Mulched soil inevitably surpasses regular soil after crops get high enough.

I think your best bet for location hunting is to live near a HQ animal spawn
