Is hafen wiki on fandom or another wiki site?

Postby donatas081294 » Fri Dec 17, 2021 12:28 am

Since most wikis/wikias existed before fandom was even a thing, I got to ask which is the real haven and hearth wiki? The one on fandom or the one on old wiki/wikia site (not sure what site even is that unless the wiki itself is stand alone website).
So got to ask should we switch to fandom? (more community I suppose) and what is the official old wiki/wikia site name? (you know the format and look they all seem to have very similar layout compared to the new wikis/wikias on fandom).

No. It's a horribly inefficient site, showcasing many of the bad aspects of modern web design. The existing wiki is simple and it works.

The original wiki for H&H was posted on Wikia.com (which is still available at havenandhearth.fandom.com). However, due to some of the policies of Wikia, along with lack of admin tools, backend access, or something along those lines, it was decided a private site would be better, and a few of the players at the time set up ringofbrodgar.com. The information on Wikia, the last I looked, was only up to date circa 2010 (world 3, which is the last time the site shows any page modifications for it).

As an FYI, Wikia.com was rebranded to Fandom.com a few years ago after some mergers and acquisitions.

Also as an FYI, neither are the "real" wiki. Both are unofficial player creations. We've asked jorb and loftar about setting up space for an official site the players can keep updated.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
