Compost EXTRAGAVANZA

Postby dageir » Mon Jun 06, 2022 9:21 am

In light of lacking updates regarding composting I will post pics of my compost every week!
This so you can follow the decomposing process throught the year. I imagine many of you are never outdoors and this might be scary or indimidating, but that makes it even more important for you to see this even just through the computer screen.

I just added some fresh clippings from a rose bush.
Bonus: Notice the dandelions!

you not gonna turn that over to get the new shit mixed in and inoculated so it'll break down faster?

Yeah, but I just turned it before adding the new stuff, so I will let it "rest" until next week.

No, I do not have a traditional worm compost, but the worms (Eisenia fetida which I added after an ice fishing trip over a year ago) seem to enjoy the more mature compost bin where they feed on more decomposed material:

Be careful not to add species that are not native to your area.

Added a ton of clippings from the hedge. Also some food waste has been added during the past week (not shown).
