A Toast to Old Ideas

Walls, magical siege defenses, so many things that we've seen in the ten and a half years since this interview that have insulated ourselves from this core interaction that this game was built to foster. Did time reforge these old ideas anew, into something better? Or would recapturing that spark somehow breath new life from the coals of this old hearth?

It's pretty hard to reminisce about any old conversations or hype that happened in interviews or streams when the devs are so blatantly dishonest.

They can and have pushed out numerous out of touch ideas without even caring about feedback, all based on the premise of them being "part of their vision."

The very lengthy undertaking of tree conversations, a feature that nobody would have ever asked for, and so seemingly out of left field is a great example.

Everything from the moderation of this forum to their willingness to even engage with feedback, let alone genuinely accept it and consider it is based on nothing but their mood at the time and the will of the church fathers and saints.

yay w14 hype
