I found Black Trumpets IRL because of HnH

Disclaimer: I have been looking for mushrooms for over 5 years now and this is the first time I've found where I was absolutely certain it was what it was. A huge reason for this was due to HnH. I knew they looked like Chanterelles and after googling I learned they were a beginner friendly mushroom with no poisonous look alikes so I was confident enough to go back and pick them. I took photos and then had OTHER PEOPLE identify them for me to confirm them were safe.

These are APPARENTLY Black Trumpets AKA Craterellus cornucopioides

Yeah thingwalls would be pretty good. along with hearth fires. Imagine life with hearth fires.

I was cutting down trees today when I saw a twisted bit of new growth, maybe about 1' out of the ground. It was in the way of my chainsaw, so when I pulled on it, it pulled another 2-3' of root out of the ground. It definitely could have been used as cordage, so I'm considering it a very nice spindly taproot.

We have freshwater mussels in the river at the back of our property. No river pearls yet, but maybe one day.

Edelweiss are endangered and I am pretty sure it is illegal to pick them in most countries if not all in which they bloom. Please refrain from endangering them further.

Black trumpets are the bomb. A couple years ago a friend gave me a jar of dried ones. A couple pinches of crushed dried black trumpets can really make a soup pop, I highly recommend trying it.
