Is it just me or is ore more scarce this world?

Last world I rarely prospected as digging eventually lead to ore , this world however prospecting has become my norm And using prospecting , I'm having to dig out 100 or more rock tiles only to uncover a few tiles of ore, not really even worth the effort.
