Books similar to hnh lore/aesthetic theme

Postby Zemith » Wed Jan 25, 2023 1:43 am

A couple days ago, I found my self reading each item in the "Lore" tab and felt so entertained and curious that I ended up wanting more.
I'd love if you guys could recommend me books that are written similarly to the game lore, that talks about nature from a curious, philosophical perspective.

I'd even ask the devs if they were inspired by some book when they were designing the game theme, aesthetic and texts, and to share them with us.
This body holding me reminds me of my own mortality
Embrace this moment, remember, we are eternal
All this pain is an illusion

I like the idea of a historical novel based on Scandinavian hunter gatherers alongside partially settled farming. It probably doesn't exist.
Folktales really don't cover that sort of thing.Nor do the Sagas.

Chinese peasants did all of those things; walled villages, bandits, foraging and farming with a huge herb lore. But a novel about it and in english? Eh. Doesn't exist. The ancient book The Water Margin is in english.

A Russian book and a film: the whole film Dersu Uzala is on Youtube. The real life book "With Dersu Uzala the Hunter" was written by a Tsarist Russian officer named V.K. Arseniev. Dersu was a animist pagan and lived his whole life wandering the Siberian taiga. Its free at archive.org.
