Claim keeps getting destroyed, how can I even get started?

Best thing is not to build a claim yet. Keep exploring, find a better spot.

It takes a week or two, before winter comes. A lot of players will become less active. Also as we go further (later) into the world, you may even find some abandoned places (like, a cave with drying drames, even houses build).

Thanks for the help all, per your advice I tried placing a new claim a couple minimaps away with no landscaping. I think my problem was I prepped the land and paved it before laying the original claim, so it was attracting every degenerate vandal to my un-set claim.
