As someone from Southern Ontario of Canada, I ping both servers at around 140ms.

Is there a way to ping the current servers? if I just ping www.havenandhearth.com I get a lovely average of 200ms.

To be honest, unless you live in Russia or Finland, Germany-based server is probably going to be better just from the geographical location alone. We're boxed in by Baltic Sea, Scandinavian mountains, and Russia.
