Legacy Music in buildings.

Postby xAlexx » Mon Nov 11, 2024 9:19 pm

I'm unsure if there was a post as to why Jorb didn't carry over the music that played inside the buildings but I think it would be nice to have a little nostalgia mixed into the current version of the game.

Maybe I'm the only one who would enjoy this or maybe a handful of my fellow hearthlings would enjoy it as well.

Music would be nice.
There are games that I run just to get the ambiance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6B2Aqo6 ... F&index=12
H&H had that in early worlds. Loftar killed it. :(

+1 for music back into the game.

Yeah 100%. I still listen to the soundtrack on YouTube when I'm driving to work lol. Haven's loose viking theme wasn't so much in your face when it was younger. It had more of it's own identity, and the music really helped solidify that. Kinda like, SNES mmojrpg vibes I guess. It felt more age ambiguous like the turn of the industrial revolution in the 1800s with brick walls, coinpresses, newsboy's caps. But also bows and arrows, armor, etc. I Feel like occasionally we get a taste of that same aesthetic with glass greenhouses and sleds but whenever a new viking related thing is added it just feels kinda forced, for instance like the ambient music that's in the game now. Just... viking chants while I'm wearing my Maga hat, leather backpack, and cooking hot wings and pancakes in a skillet. Identity crisis

He could simply add a tab in the settings for Music and have a sub-tab that is labeled "Legacy Music" and we could choose from a list of old songs and have them play one time or on a loop. I dont think coding something like that and adding them would be all too hard.

If not that, just code it to play inside buildings you know. Yeah, bringing up youtube and playing them is easy and all but the feeling isnt the same. Not trying to ramble but the game just seems a little empty without it.
