Questions about underground village claim

I didn't bother expanding my village claim into my mine because where i had to mine was a couple hundred of squares away from my claim and no other mines or tunnels from other players were connected to it.
But now im about to go down to layer 4 and the mine is connected to at least 3 other player's mine, and where im mining right now is pretty close to being under my village, so my questions are:

1) I know that i can only place village banners directly under the village claim i already have, but can i place one in layer 4 without having one in each layer before that?
2) People can walk through but cannot interact with anything inside your village claim, does this count going up/down my minehole and mining walls inside of the claim?

You're probably better off with a pclaim if its that far away from your initial village.

Sorry if i wasn't clear, I didn't mean big map squares, i mean grid squares on the screen, the entrance to the mine is in a corner of my village.

1/ You need to claim each layer
2/ People can't interact with things *if they walk through a visitor gate*. You need pallisades with visitor gates around each up/down minehole (prevents people from travelling up/down through your mineholes, they can be bashed so it's a huge pain in the ass if it happens) and around anything you want to keep safe in the mine.

Another jorbtar gift to the big factions agains hermits, having to make and keep track of 4, 9 in the future, new claims is not easy.

What is the argument against expanding the personal claim to the underground levels again?
