Tree Growth

I know in previous worlds Birdcherry Trees and Juniper trees used to be the go-to for quality spiraling due to them growing at a faster rate than other trees while on forest terrain.

I planted 1 Spruce and 1 Juniper nearly the exact same time and I saw that the Juniper Tree after a few days was 6 or 7 percent ahead of the spruce.

Now my question is, are these still the preferred trees to use or were they all adjusted to grow at the same rate while on a forest tile?

Trees have regional growth nodes. All trees have the same base growth speed on any of the forest biomes. Congrats on noticing it, most players aren't even aware it exists lol.

Standard practice for me is to plant a set of every bough bearing tree and seeing what grows fastest in my village before picking which one I use.

That actually sounds like a pretty good idea with the bough bearing ones.
Appreciate the feedback.
