Hi, I've come to this game to find something new, I'm interested in learning this game and enjoying all it has to offer. I wanted to know any tips and guides to check into to help me with my endeavors. :D

I'm gonna make this simple and sweet in my drunk state. tl;dr is game is good enjoy your time. Realm chat or the Grand List of Simple Questions is your friend: viewtopic.php?f=42&t=71318, do not ask them questions. Ask them questions after you search said question in: https://ringofbrodgar.com/ our favorite wiki. Yes the game hates you. Yes it's hostile. Yes it's a pain before you put up a palisade. That's the idea love it or hate it. If you like it? Welcome! Remember an abridged version of the NAP applies. Rejoice in the bloodshed! Alternatively enjoy the grind. It's fun but I'm gonna be frank after ass blasting someone with a B12, a troll, mammoth, and snail it's okay. Fun but okay. FFXIV fishing while you grind here highly recommend. Great game. Find something to afk during grinds. Don't afk mining or do. Stay for hermit wars after 4 months. Combat ain't hard trust me.

Edit: Yes the community is hostile. Hostile in the sense you can't search an answer for yourself. This ain't a job in welding where your trainer teaches you. This is stick welding. Get good faggot, look up guides, and understand. If this makes sense, or not, then good. If it does make sense and you can stick weld bravo brother learn aluminum welding with beer cans. No job site hates our kind. You'll love this game in this case for we embrace hostile environments.

You can learn a lot by just perusing the forums. The Ring of Brodgar wiki is a good reference. If you are in a realm, use realm chat, most players are friendly and will help; but "better safe than sorry" - do not disclose your location to anyone you don't know, do not meet anywhere except at a market, and if you're outside your pali and see a white arrow on the map ...hearth home; it may be a friendly player or it may be someone who will say "hello" and kill you.

Death is permanent but all is not lost. Create a new character and inherit from your previous one, you will spawn at their hf, own anything they owned, and have about 40% of their skills and abilities (bury their remains intact and get another 20%).

Learn to use the icon menu (lower left); I keep icons for all animals and resources visible, enable others as needed when seeking something. And the icons are only visible when the minimap is zoomed in; always remember to zoom it back in or you may not see something dangerous nearby.

There is a lot to learn in this game, and progress is slow for a beginner; play at your own pace.
