Haven Material designer Tool - Out of date :(

Postby Barbamaus » Sun Jan 11, 2026 2:06 am

Does anyone have a way to contact whoever made the Haven Material designer Tool and ask them to either update it or hand it over to someone who will carry it forward?

It's an amazing tool, but unfortunately it lacks a lot of materials now, as well as some items.

It is open source though. The resource tool you can fork at https://gitlab.com/CarryGun/HafenResourceTool and the frontend you can just download and make your own repo. I myself have yoinked parts of it for my own project. Tho the hardest thing is figuring out which textures belong where, the mlink stuff is very confusing.

I don't think I have the knowledge to do it. I wound't even know where to get the new textures or models.

On a side note, I'm surprised there's no tool to plan villages. With all the nerds working on their own custom clients, it would be neat to have such tool and not be forced to do it with pixels

Google Spreadsheets? I usually don't handle the planning, so I'm not sure if there are any features they might lack.

Spreadsheet? worst possible tool for that

I do use pixelart websites, which are fine for general planning, but it would be neat to have a tool with actual haven models on it, so you can see how things really look like (and how much space they really take).

Pathetic.
I use blender, I reproduce each model by hand, with textures.

Figma works fine as well. Just settle on some size for a map tile, like 10x10 or 100x100, and go ham drawing a bunch of squares. Also, draw.io could be used in the same manner.
