You'll soon learn that in catching rabbits, you cant rely on your friends. You rely on foxes. Foxes have gotten me 90% of my rabbits.

I found easiest way is get relatively close, have water in flask, and be on sprint speed, then right clickt he rabbit in minimap - that's how ive gotten mine now. but in dense tree areas its a pain cause u bump into trees ad bushes.
