The cows stopped giving milk

Dairy cows only give milk while their baby is growing. When the baby is about to mature, they stop giving milk.

However, if you keep a bull with them (to breed), they'll continue to give milk almost constantly. Bulls will walk through open gates for breeding, but otherwise, animals do not move through gates (exceptions usually involve a player action).

I don't know if I agree with this as my Cows have been giving milk for 5 weeks straight and I have not breeded them at all during that time.

Rape racks didn’t work — the males refused to breed the females in those stalls. But if I move a female out to the corridor with the male, he mates with her quickly, and then I can lead her back with a rope. They’re all pregnant now, and it’s actually very convenient to milk them, monitor their quality, and shear their wool.
