We blocked most caves nearby, they just mined for a couple hours. Can't do much to stop someone who really wants to mine in.

For reference, the group who mined into us this world, we mined into last world. They knew our location, we didn't know theirs, so we got mined into.

thanks

I can and will easily tell you with a straight face that.
You do realize that there's like 4 moves early on, right? The rage rushers count on people going into panic mode and freezing up because they've been aggro'd when all they need to do is to calmy use their 4 moves (2 actually, you're only going to need 2, 1 if you aren't going to fight back lol...)

And get the fuck out of here with that >"muh hermits need coddling" mentality. I'm a hermit, I've just told you how to avoid being found. We don't need some 0IQ blockade band aid being the fix which funnily enough is abused more by the big groups than any hermits.

Hermits hate this one simple trick involving one fox/goat and a knife.

Lmao
If you unironically think that a hermit learning the color system is more likely to happen than him learning to put hf in cave and put pclaim in cave door, you're not worth responding to, i'm sorry.
But it's not that, you're just not honest enough to be taken seriously.

It took 4 lines for bob dole to explain how to do this exploit, and 2 of those lines are just him explaining what a pclaim is.
Now, please, if you intend to die on that hill, try to do the same thing with the combat system right now, do your best to explain the color combat system and what an attack is and what a dodge is in 4 lines only, i wanna see it.
May i give you a free tip: By the time they get rage, they already have moves that open red.

Good luck!

It was suggested to me from multiple sources that the early game was basically unplayable without this tactic, and while I don't exactly agree myself (I've never done it), I also obviously don't play particularly competitively, and as I thought it wasn't a big deal, I just reintroduced it because why not. Now that you tell me it's a controversial decision, though, I'm more than willing to remove it again, so thanks for pointing that out.

Please do. There are plenty of hermits like myself who have never needed this. It's an abusable band aid that helps undesirables more than noobs. They just pull the 'think of the noobs!' excuse as a smokescreen.
Let people use their own ingenuity to hide early game.
Often times people are found because they've drawn attention to themselves. The world of Haven is cruel, losing some hides because you didn't take the necessary steps to acclimate yourself to the way of the world is a very small price to pay for such a valuable lesson on how the world is. Don't rob people of this lesson whilst simultaneously giving the people who are doing the early crimes a safe vault to retreat to.

Think about it logically
Even in an ideal situation where a handful of people use this blockade, how many other people do you think are going to be drying their hides out in the open outside of caves? They're always the majority, they still get fucked either way. The main benefiters of you reverting this change are the criminals.
Make the right choice and revert the change so we can just avoid all this nonsense with caves getting blocked by Claim poles.

So I guess if this is reverted we should just take a 4 hours nap after claim dries and then stay up until pali dries, well that sucks but it's doable.

Here's my non bs.

This "exploit" can benefit everyone. So why bother until an actual solution is achieved? Haven has so many obscure creative "mechanics" (really just weird gameplay) already. Why is this the hill to die on.

Removing this makes the early game much harsher and risky. Not sure if that’s a bad thing.
Losing your leather and having your pyre destroyed sucks tho. Maybe it sucks too much.

There is no problem, you fucks are manufacturing a solution to a problem that simply does not exist, and the 'solution' just makes it so that cave blocking is hands down the one and only way to circumvent the early game challenges that everybody else has to experience.
It now becomes a case of
>If you don't find a cave and block it off, you're quite literally playing the early game wrong. Period.
Setting up in caves early on goes from being a novel early game option to the only option unless you're retarded.
I can't think of a worse situation for the game than walking around and seeing every other cave blocked by a Pclaim.
It would also make the game feel more dead if everybody set up in a cave.

There are minimal benefits but a plethora of negatives, get this shit outta the game.

EVERYBODY DEALS WITH HIDES POTENTIALLY BEING REMOVED, YOU SHOULDN'T GET TO BE EXEMPT FROM THAT BECAUSE YOU PUT A FUCKING CLAIM POLE OUTSIDE A CAVE. THAT'S UTTERLY RETARDED.

Thank you! With this being reverted time to play hide and seek and make multiple hideouts with leather tanning. I bet this is fair
