For some odd reason, i cant place down fences for the life of me. i can spam click and it wont do shit, Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Could be that you need to dig first, so it becomes brownish, like dirt. That helped me when i built a palisade. Could not build on the green parts.

My ground is flattened and paved with stone, so i doubt its that.
