It depends on whether food or time is your limiting factor, I guess. If you have plenty of food then by all means burn through it. If you have less you'll get more for each unit. The idea is to have a system that rewards your particular playstyle.

Login, eat up with maximum efficiency, logout, wait a week, repeat.

Maybe you should have the server keep track on how fast you stuff amounts of food and in case to much comes to fast... do something.

Or just ignore that and implement ability to execute bulimia while feasting, we already have the feathers...

Along with limited log in time per account. new systems really do seem to promote alting

My villager capped out at 25% FEP.

There's no 10% or 0% after, so the absolute worse is 1/4. Jorb said "whatever suits your playstyle" not "we're going to hard limit you from progressing if you do too much in a day".

Easy access to the game and fast paced character development does that. Not sure what the reasonable alternative is.

Alts certainly have been given a bit of an uphill in combat discoveries and experiences, though.
