Palisade gate orientation..which is inside?

Before I hose my palisade placement and lock the gate in the wrong orientation, which side of the gate is the inside and which is the outside? I want to place the gate with the inside inside, and the outside outside (normal orientation).

If the palissade's door open outside, do I have to make some place between the palissade door and the brickwall door to alow palissade's door to open before opening BW door ? (not sure that's clear )

Pretty sure the question was "Does the opened palisade gate have a larger hitbox than a closed palisade gate". Aka does that ramp thing need to not clip through walls.
