How does one obtain new combat moves?

I know you can't fight ants forever.

Does having more str/agility help?
Do you need a require str/agility?
What about melee combat?

You must successfully attack with your Combat Discovery move when it pops up. You don't need to deal any damage but you have to break their defense successfully and potentially deal some % beyond that.

Combat Discovery attacks Green, Blue, Red, and Yellow defenses and uses either a combination of your UAC and Melee or the higher of the two, I don't know which. So if your opponent has 1 defense up and 30 UAC, you need 31 UAC to break their defense and land a blow.

Strength doesn't help but Agi can.
