Pull Auroch hair when tethered?

So I leashed an auroch and tied it to a hitching post, but am still allowed to pull it's hair. Im just wondering if this means I did something wrong because when I had a mouflon, I couldn't shear it.

You always have to give it a clover to shear a wild mouflon. No idea if it's intentional to do it while hitched, and haven't tried.

Aurochsen don't need clovers to get their hair pulled. I wonder what happens if you aggro it when pulling hair while it's tethered.

I'm guessing if you aggro it while pulling hair it'll be the same if you aggro it for taming. It'll unhitch and if it's not in taming phase you'll have to kill it.
