Pea Pods

How do ya plant these gits? I can't slap down the pods themselves and when I scoff them they don't give out any seeds? What gives?

EDIT: Same as peppercorns, what else aren't as obvious as plot down and grow?

peas, peppercorns, hops, grapes need trellis. So far those are the only ones. Screwy thing is you just need a trellis and don't need to plow the land first.
