Tar kiln

Say I need 12 coal quickly to smelt a load, can I put like 3 blocks in the kiln and get coal in a few minutes/hours ?

Do we know how much time it takes / block ?

It takes a certain amount of time for any number of blocks, plus a much smaller amount of time per added block. I don't remember the specifics, but it takes a while no matter what and is more efficient to just burn a full load

afaik it's like 2charcoal per block and it takes about 2 maybe 3 hours for a batch of 6 to turn into 12 coal

if you load it full it will be done in like 16 hours,its more efficient that way
