it seems I cant start fire in a fire spot. How do i do that?

firebrands suck, you need like 50% stamina for it to fail.

However when the gods do decide to not let it fail or burn out within 0.24 seconds. You need to the right click the fire, kiln, oven or what not.

If you fail once, drink water and try again.
