Hand bashing pallisades.

Postby pawnchito » Mon May 03, 2021 9:19 pm

Yesterday at approx 10 am we bashed a side of our wall and it cascaded affecting our outside perimeter. We rebuilt the section of the wall immediately after and started repairs on the last section that was left at sub 25%. This morning at 1 pm someone came and bashed the wall with their hands, could not have been anything else. There was no wrecking ball for 24 hours, I was offline for about 1 hour and when i came back that section had been knocked down. Full village auth and personal claim auth as evidenced by all of the scents.

After a wall is partially destroyed takes longer than 24 hours to dry again? I rebuilt the section of the wall and my weak ass can still hand bash it. So what gives?

Seems to be 48 hours for complete drying. A dried palisade can't be clicked on to destroy, if you walk towards it someone can potentially bash it. Your pali was only dried 15ish hours before the bash? Even at world start ~24 hours is recommended drying and that's when no one has any strength yet.

Sorry to hear that, I have an interior remodel I'd like to do that's too close to an outer wall as well. I've just decided to live with it.

Alright I assumed user error and rebuilt the palisade before I posted here. It has been 24 hours and the area can still be hand bashed.
Authority is all good, other tiles that had not been affected by the cascade are not hand bashable and on the same claim.

According to the wiki, palisades dry in 24 hours. Every other world Im almost positive it has been 24 hours.

This cascaded area was rebuilt and it has been longer than 24 hours but can still be hand bashed. What the deuce?

My palisade also appeared to still be bashable after 24h. I couldn't find any announced change. Maybe this is one of the secret W13 changes?

It's been the case that it gradually gains soak over 2 or 3 days (can't remember) for many worlds now. So try at 49 or 73 hours and it won't be.

Anyone can.

viewtopic.php?f=39&t=47082&p=613880&hilit=soak#p613880

What's wrong with the current text of "A freshly built palisade's soak will increase slowly from zero to full over the course of three days. This means that it can be broken with a starting character with only 10 Strength. After 24 hours they require higher strength or a ram to break." on the wiki other than it possibly being 2 days instead of 3?

Seems like user error here.

"After 24 hours they require higher strength or a ram to break."

This statement is needlessly ambiguous. How much higher strength? Higher than 10? Higher than 100?

I mean the time is ambiguous. So of course the answer would be too.
