Regarding Hemp, Flax, Grains, and Beehives

Postby Kuriak » Wed Sep 14, 2022 11:40 am

So I'm aware that the growth rate of these select crops are unaffected by the presence of beehives, but my question is this:

Do these crops still contribute to the production of honey and wax? I realize I could test this but it would take days and I haven't been able to find the answer searching these forums or on the wiki.

No they don't. Beehives have a very slow passive production whether or not they're near growing crops, which has mislead some people into thinking those crops were involved.

Yikes, thanks, no wonder my wax production has been such crap. These crops make up most of my farm.

I thought it was just hemp.
None of those crops contribute?
Does a beehive do anything for them?

None of the listed crops do (they aren't pollinated by insects IRL either)
Beehive has zero impact on them

Part of why you have so many of them, their growth times aren't getting a penalty like beehive based crops are.

All the wind-pollinated grains definitely should not be affected by beehives. As far as I know, this is how it works in-game.

Flax definitely should be affected by beehives. As far as I know, this is how it works in-game.

Hemp allegedly is unaffected but that would be a bug/design oversight.

I was under the impression that flax, at least, was affected by beehives. Is this false?

Oh shoot, I did the "start and end of the sentence" bullshit. I'm sorry.

Millet, Barley, Wheat, Hemp are unaffected, Flax is.

It happens to the best of us. Don't worry.

Works or not, additional wax never hurt, especially 10q that goes away into building material.

Eh it's my bad for including it in the thread title because I misread the wiki. Looks like I'll be focusing more on flax rather than hemp.
