Does the Ancestral Shrine have a cooldown or something?

I built the thing. I made one gold framed sacrifice. Then made two or three silvers before I got another gold I could source, but now it wont take the gold item

How sure are you that the thing you are trying to offer is actually what the ancestors want? Sometimes the ancestors are perhaps not entirely perfect in translating their desires from the spirit world (stuff like raw vs cooked fish, spring water has apparently been a thing in the past, etc idk I don't really do ancestral worship).

ETA: oh, is quality a thing with offerings too? like it wants q 5 hemp seeds but you only have q3 available so that's not good enough?
