How rare are Stalagoombas?

I've seen them once, a few weeks ago.

I have "Catch a Stalagoomba" as my next quest for miner, and I've been stuck on it for weeks.

I check about 6-8 caverns on levels 1-5 every day.

Am I just getting unlucky, or are they super rare?

Should I skip this quest?

i think it's rarer than cave clay, so a good skip candidate

Quite common once you find a Stalagoomba spawn node. Outside of that though they are not.
