Why do pipes have quality?

Postby Ø » Tue Jan 23, 2024 7:13 pm

Is the quality of a pipe of any type taken into account while smoking? Is there any reason that they have quality other than the fact that it is likely inherited by default?

Pretty sure it's by default as most items have quality except some rare exceptions on which it makes sense that they don't. As in, gold has no quality because it makes it equivalent to all other gold, there is no shit gold or silver.
I might be completely wrong tho and it might just softcap the ql of what you are smoking.

If there's a mechanic behind it, it's not a relevant one to gameplay. Could be tested, but it'd slot under arcane trivia if it was figured out.

There's a bunch of items that have quality even though they shouldn't. It would be really nice of devs removed it...

That's true, but the lack of quality in silver (and probably gold too) is kind of a scam sometimes...
For example, if you make a Royal Thorne with silver and cloth, you'll be in for a very bad surprise: you'd expect it to take the quality of the cloth only, since the metal doesn't have any. But that's not the case, and you'll end up with a shitty q expensive chair :|
