Houses have a trash pool but there is no way to access it, so simply dropping an item on the floor/indoors (assuming nobody picks it up) will make it disappear entirely.

it takes like 3 weeks for a key to despawn though

I put mine in random tree stumps. If someone finds them and then the corresponding gate that's miles away, they deserve to take my stuff.
Can't you just change the locks?
