Tbh I think making raiding even tougher will only serve to drive away people that play for that aspect. Perhaps we could use a differentiation of how was it is to do certain malicious things. I mean sure loot all you will but rebuilding infrastructure becomes more painful. Livestock murdering is also painful as hell. I'd like to see jorbtar address all this with a nice siege system that favours both the raider's loot rights as well as the defender's right to not lose months of progress on a raider's whim.

Pretty sure he was sarcastic. Either increasing or decreasing ram drying time doesn't solve the problem, it just shifts the no-life requirement to defenders or attackers. The whole sieging system needs to be redone (and as far as I know, is being redone?).

i hope ur kidding!!! camping 12 hours is pretty ridiculous, let alone 24. if he wasnt on vacation and spotted the ram and they were doing a 24 hour camp depending on when they spotted it they would have tons of time to prepare people to fight the campers/smash ram. chances are theres only few camping at a time due to timezones/other shit

theres no point in making raiding harder, its hard enough as is

also COLESIE im sure the scummy selling clay for money definitely had a little bit to do with it imo

But imagine how much FUN we could have if we had to camp there for a week!

Literary brilliance. Invites obvious comparison to classics such as the The Tempest and Paradise Lost. A Heminwaynian euphoria infused with sparks of a early-era Austen. Really entertaining and fun.

I dunno, a guy kills someone from your village, gets butthurt when we track him and shows up at your wall demanding $50 for the clay we "stole" while tracking him. Does that leave doubts to you?

Of course I can't speak for everyone, others may have different motivations.

Ahhh, right, I'm glad you posted that, I was told it the other way around, someone vandaled the node and then zox killed someone from the village, which I sort of understood, (ofc, not the demanding money part, that was always wrong) ... pleased to hear I had it wrong and the village wasn't at fault.

That's not exactly the entire story either if I remember it right. Zox or his friend killed a guy ("with good gear" in his own words) and knew which was his home village so he could have gotten into contact, but instead he went "not my problem". Then after his clay was stolen as compensation, he started telling people he was the victim because the guy he had killed was 15 or 30 minutes from his village, while in fact he was about 2 hours away. And then he killed another two chars by ambushing owned roads. Yet still, he didn't simply ask for USD 50 - demanding real money in exchange for not starting a war is outright blackmail.

Nah, the ram drying time is fine, this was a legit raid, wasn´t done by spies or subterfuge, they placed the ram and waited, if the village was ram checking daily as they should this raid would not happen.

It is as said ITT, don´t go on vacations, or at the very least be sure there is someone in village to perform the ram checks.
