W7 New Brodgar had double walls though. I'm sure diplomacy is the main issue but I suppose being notable in other areas would also help a lot. To use the CK2 system, new brodgar scored low on all its stats :

Diplomacy
Martial
Trade and money-making
Shady stuff and backstabbing
Nerdy stuff

I know. I helped build one of those walls. I must object though, diplomacy is a non-issue if one party will not even approach the negotiation table. Or have no intentions of honoring the results of the diplomacy. Furthermore, a solid and impenetrable defense is the best force multiplier in having your neutrality respected. Just look at Switzerland.

But! More importantly ... What is CK2? I am intrigued.

Lol, after the first time we went to Brodgar Robben messaged me and asked if we'd leave them alone

I said that we'd only really went there for something to do since we were sort of just aimlessly going east and killing shit so I told him that I didn't think we'd be actively messing with NB unless they were posting taunts or w/e (and we actually hadn't planned on going there actively at the time)

He agreed and showed that he understood what I was saying but not even a day later he was doing exactly what we had talked about, so we went back lol
