undead goats

I was very exited to find a pair of goats in an abandoned village, however i have them now for e few days in my base and found that they are not eating, and when I checked the cattle roster they seem to be dead, however they happily walk around and i even get wool from them, there welfedness is not going down either.. so not sure what is happening here..
