Destroying roadsigns/milestones unavailable

I first tried in: viewtopic.php?f=42&t=45161 but have yet to receive any information which makes me wonder if this could be a bug. As nothing from googling or using the wiki would state that you cannot destroy a road sign.

But I am in a Village and noticed I have wooden road signs called milestones in the village proper. But when I try to destroy said road sign, it states "this trail is owned by (name of trail owner)" and gives me no way to destroy it.

some basic facts:
the wooden road sign in question is covered by our Village authority and does not have another villages authority over it.
my village has been up and running for over a day now and has authority in it.
I tried doing the personal claim over the road sign and waited till he personal claim was active and it still did not affect the road sign

the only error message i receive when i click on destroy with my pick axe is "That trail is owned by (name of trail owner)"
