Items studied for credo quest do not register

This has happened at least three different times. Initially I assumed I had somehow missed that the quest was to study two items not one, but this is definitely not the case now that I am watching for it. I leave my character studying while I am logged out and when I log in the item is complete - but the completion does not register and I have to get am additional example of the curio and study it all over again.

Items involved have been cat gold, and a seer's bowl. I don't remember what the third item was.

Possibly relevant: when I logged in I did not see the usual stack of little numbers showing all the points for the things that completed studying while I was logged out.

Keeping my character logged in all the time is a work around, but not one that I like. I am not impressed with setting my alarm for three AM to get up and log in either.

It feels more likely this is user error than a bug, unless you're doing something hyper specific and abnormal. Nobody else has had an issue with this for years in spite of studying things for credos being a very heavily used system. Mebe gib some details?

Only idea I have is /maybe/ it doesn't count if your character is loaded in while you're offline, or maybe scholar procs not counting.

What kind of user error are you thinking? I had been assuming I was just dumb and misreading when I needed to study two of one item, but eventually I started to get suspicious and began to write down what the credo quests were.

Sure enough the credo might ask me to study two strange crystals and I'd study one and put the second one in my desk ready, and the eventually I would log in to find that I was studying a crystal - but that I STILL needed to study two, and there was no longer one in my desk.

Several times I have put the item I need to study into my study area, calculated that it would be done by the time I logged back in again, sometimes using contemplation and meditation to ensure it would be done so I could get off to a quick start, only to log in and find out that there was no such item in my study area or the desk and I still needed to study it.

It's not only recurrent but I am suspicious that it has been going on for a long time, several world's worth.

Since nobody else has reported this, it's got to be a me problem - but what am I doing that nobody else is doing?
