Built a Log Cabin, my second one, I am unable to enter it, as well as different textures?
after right clicking;

Different textures are caused by the fact that you used other materials to build it. It is a feature. 
Why you can't enter it is a better question.

I assumed the texture was material based, and I'm thrilled at the diversity in creation the system opens up. Seeing every different kind of rock and log.
Why seems to be a good question, I've played since W6 and I'm rather confident I'm attempting to enter this door correctly considering I use my other cabin fine. I can right click on the door and my character will walk towards it as expected but then just spin around upon reaching it as if there's no inside or something.

Could very well be that there isn't. Are you posting from the same account you are playing on, and is that place near you hearth fire?

Sounds lovely, I'm not in any hurry, the hearthfire in my first pic is mine and of the character "AliceVonAnabru" of this account, I'm sure he can find his way from there

Are there any other differences than texture? Do different types of wood build sturdier houses?

It's only for looks right now, but I am sure we'll keep deepening the systems if and when we get the chance. I would love a meaningful system for functional differences.
