Friend tripped. Cupboard sunk

Postby Reiber » Sat Sep 26, 2015 10:58 pm

Hello.
Me and a friend where moving around for two days now and whe carried a cupboard around since this is a thing now apparently.
In it was nothing valuable but all that we had (all oure seed, hay, leather and two underdeveloped skulls i grew very close too since launch).
so my firend lost his connection cause of who know what with his waypoint in shallow water, he carried the cupboard whith him.

The really strange thing is he did not despawn but could normaly walk aroud avter the dc .
the cupboard did not take it so good though . i was sitting in a boat right nect too him as it just vanished.

Plop!

gone was all i had not even on the ground . Not with a splash sunken intoo the depths no just like flown away with the wind.

guess i´m back too seaching winsome weeds again. T_T

Things dropped in water disappear. Kind of working as intended. What would the alternative be?

ok this is also a thing now
putting running round in water with stuff on my head right next too "don´t run with scissors" on my too do list now.

was just curios if intendet.
may wanna give it a splash sound thought. makes more clear what happened instead of just disapearing of of a logged in character head intoo nothingness. :)

Making it remain on shallow water?

It seems odd to me that a cupboard would sink while a larger animal corpse does not. Not to mention a whole cupboard entirely disappearing in water shallow enough to walk through is...strange to say the least.

Kind of surprised me too given that you can not even place a cupboard in sw , a 2meters tall cupboard sinking in water that barely touches your ankle seems a bit odd.

kind of neccasary thought if i remeber the logbarriers in old haven.
but i can imagine exploits now with claims that include some sw ( picking up object, standing in sw and log out) so you would only a tresspasscent
and could not be summoned and still mindlesly destoy everything someone has.

Stuff should float. And then go around with currents.

Super easy to simulate, flow dynamics aren't hard or CPU intensive at all.

Why not give items dropped in shallow water a quick (~30s) decay time, instead of having them instantly disappear?
