Quest bugs

Postby ghandhikus » Sun Dec 25, 2016 4:29 am

Bugs
  • 1. They can spawn on claimed land
  • 2. Abandoning quest still triggers completed parts of it
  • 3. After abandoning every quest it's impossible to finish them nor get new ones
  • 4. Some quests are incompletable unless you invest points in different skills

Fix tips
  • 1. iterate a couple of times or inifitely randomly picking trees, chunk cache can help
  • 2. Remove quests entirelly or add new tab with cancelled quests, as abandoned quests are not successful
  • 3. Fixing 2 might fix this, if it's not, let player have at minimum like 4 quests
  • 4. Make quests based on character doing them

Happens. Turn on criminal acts and you shouldn't leave anything more than trespassing scents. Otherwise, not a bug.

Objects on claimed land should not be eligible to become parts of quests. imho.

This imply:
1) Quest have a duration, now they last forever.
2) If someone claim land where there is a quest object, that quest will be auto aborted giving you a new one.
" The Haven gods changed their mind "....or something like that....:)

P.S. Merry Christmas :D

It only implies that newly generated quests don't select questgivers (and -goals) that are claimed.

Right now questgivers are often the same with new quest on them...so it could happen someone later on claim the land where there is a questgiver.

Then you would abort that one quest and never be bothered with that questgiver again.

From what i have understood is exactly this the problem right now:

KatoKhan wrote:I had several quests going when I moved areas. Once I got to my new area I deleted all my quests so a new one could pop up from the new area.
Instead one of the ones I deleted showed up because I caught a fish (one of the parts of the old deleted quest) and I do not seem to be getting
any new quests due to having one. I tried abandoning it again but it is not showing in my current quests, only in my completed quests.

Any ideas how I can remove it so I can get new quests ?

Different bug.

This one is (at least as I got it) about new quests being generated with questgivers that are located on a claim.

Leaving tresspass = being chased and then probably be dead. My quest giver to which i walked like an hour was already part of nazi swastika. So i dunno. Image
