H&H on Surface pro

Postby stickman » Sat Jan 21, 2017 6:24 pm

Hello,

There seems to be 2 major issues. DPI scaling and some kind of mouse pointer issue.

everything in the game is SUPER small people online have suggested using something like disabling DPI awareness in your app but I don't know how to do that with haven since its a java app.

2nd issue... when I login I can click all menus I can walk via the map... However I can left click ONCE in the game region to walk but after that it will not recognize my left or right clicks thereafter... I don't really know whats going on with that and I am hoping since the surface is fairly popular that someone else has run into this.

Can confirm that dpi scaling sucks.
But that applies for pretty much every, single, desktop, application. or game

java version does not have anything to do with dpi, offline version just means it does not use launcher to download the stuff but instead downloads everything when you download the first executable.
It does not really matter.

This will most likely solve your movement problem, as there is a bug with intel graphics and 32bit Java as stated in the Bug report creation HOWTO.

As a workaround you can reduce the resolution of your Desktop for the time you play H&H, this should solve your scaling issue until the developers finally come around to make the UI of the client scale to a user preference.

Don't hold your breath.

Resolved.

I had the same problem with a 4k laptop. Yesterday I tried again, and it does not seem to be solved... everything is still microscopic (and thus the game is unplayable, sadly...)

Do I have to do something special for it? Or just wait for the weekly patch?

It didn't solve the problem: I've switched from 4k to ~1900x1000 and nothing changed. I supposed that's because the automatic zoom (I don't know its name) also changed from 2.5x to 1.25x, but if I keep this to 2.5x everything else on the PC will become too big...

Anyway, do you know if I can write a script to change the resolution and start hafen with a single click? (Maybe amber could help with this...?)
