So I tried playing again, only to get a launch error as soon as I tried running the client. The only information in the error was:
Address family not supported by protocol family: connect
Never seen anything like it and nothing has changed on my computer since I last played.

Update your java or try this:
-Open command prompt (windows start button, type cmd in search)
-Click top left of command prompt, click properties, enable quick edit mode
-Copy: setx _JAVA_OPTIONS -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true
-Right click on command prompt, should paste
-Hit enter. That easy!

That explains it, I had to turn of the java auto update.

I spoke too soon, I've updated, then reinstalled java and entered that command. Still won't work.

Idk then ... on the web people report that can also be caused by the Anti-virus software blocking the connection or other program forcing Java to use IPv6 protocol.
Try to disable the antivirus and/or check for installed program "Relevant Knowledge". Look for this under installed programs and remove if found.
If this doesn't work wait for someone else to help you.
P.S. Also make sure to install Java 64bit if your win is 64bit too.

Well, I've gotten it to work. It only works if I manually open with the web launcher every time.

I had had it so that it automatically used the web launcher, but that doesn't seem to work any more.
