Can't launch the game

I've invited a friend to the game recently and he gets this error when trying to launch the game: The 'Haven and Hearth' icon shows first, and then there's an error message: 'java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: -1

I'm having the same problem. I tried to update Java to the latest version (Java SE 10) and it didn't work. And I really wanted to try this game out.

Be sure you distinguish between release versions and beta versions. If you aren't a developer, knowledgeable software tester, or have been instructed by a support person to use the beta version, stick to the official release versions.

I'll note that there's nothing wrong with learning about software testing and such. We've all started somewhere. Learn how to set up test environments and virtual machines for testing. If you need to continue using the beta version of Java, learn to set your system up to use specific versions. (Information on how to do run multiple versions of Java is available through java.com.)

Hi everyone!

Haven't played this gem for many years and now decided to return. However, after I downloaded the official autohaven archive (34 files in launcher and 1 in META-INF), I couldn't figure out which file in launcher do I open with Java Web start launcher. Please, help me out here, I suck at figuring such things out by myself.
