The best solution I can think of, is to add some letters to the time format to denote which time is it, and to add a switch in options or toggles with a brief description. E.g. "HT" for "Haven Time"(in-game time) and RT for "Real Time".
I think he was saying to remove the concept of game time altogether, Not just on these tooltips. Other than add a thinly veiled layer of obscurity around what "time" actually means in Hafen, what purpose does it serve? The game isn't even consistent when it references things that take time, half are in-game time and half are real-time and it doesn't specify which.MagicManICT wrote:Why would it confuse new players? They have no frame of reference to know. They'll just assume a day is a day. They might even take a while to notice "wow, that didn't take a full day. what the heck?"
It is confusing to established players. About the same time this thread was posted, a question was posted in How Do I? about it from a player that has returned from a previous world. I had completely forgotten this tidbit myself when I had replied until I saw this thread (and hastily added an addendum to my post).
The only problem I can see with using real time is that the game clock isn't precise. Sometimes it moves quickly, sometimes it moves slowly. It averages out to the 3.29... over time. But then, it's a much bigger pain making a disclaimer about what the game timer is than explaining that server processes sometimes aren't "precise" enough.
