Announcement images(cause found, fix needed)

Can't see them on chrome. Other browsers seems to work. Network view just tells that the request stalled.

Seems to work fine on linux (chromium) so maybe its just some odd windows specific stuff.

The issue seems to persist. Even updated chrome to the newest version, didn't help.

With HTTP it works.

Actually the problem seems to be simply the following:
With http version of forums, browser downloads the image via http and all works.
With https on forum, browser downloads https image, and the server refuses to connect.
I get the same on this url https://jorb.seatribe.se/roligabilder/hnh-346

Could be some new thing that the browser only accepts https elements on https sites, even with images. And the server is not configured to serve https content, so you should fix that.

Well if one would have simply checked the console first instead of looking at network connection there would be a friendly message notifying that all http requests are upgraded to https requests in chrome as turned out above.

Major problem if people using new versions of browsers do not see announcement pictures on the forums.

That's interesting. Why would that happen, when the URL explicitly states http?

Either way though, yeah, the main reason why that is the case is that Jorb still puts the update images on his personal server, probably just because it's easier for him that way.

Also, HTTPS certificates are still cancer. Sigh.

It just seems like a bit of a protocol violation, especially given that the link goes to a different domain. What if I want to link to an external site not supporting HTTPS that I have no control over?

Would you happen to have an exact message from Chrome that I can Google on? I don't seem to be able to reproduce the issue myself.
