My initial investigation into it would point in the direction that either the Universe as a Construct is very angry with my person, or I was looking in all the wrong places at all the wrong times. I must presuppose, that the Universe is not a person, and therefor can make no claims to personhood, or hold desires, whims or thoughts towards me. Thus, the latter prevails.

A) The "regional changes" haven't affected any regions that I'm aware. People without these things just haven't looked in the right spot near them yet. They exist. In every other past world, there was always one seed or two that I was missing for a couple of weeks before I happened to trip over it in just the right spot. I never had an issue finding metal on any reset within a few days of actually trying to find it.

B) To answer Procne: several people are saying WWW are biome based. There's a discussion thread in HDI, but I'm a Doubting Thomas on it. viewtopic.php?f=42&t=42459
