Why not give items dropped in shallow water a quick (~30s) decay time, instead of having them instantly disappear?[/quote

big animal corpses don´t decay in shallow water so why would any other objects ?

I was referring to items, not objects. Although I agree, objects shouldn't explode and disappear when dropped into shallow water.

It'd be cool if chests, cupboards and others things floated in the water, I don't know why.. it would just be cool to come across if someone died in there boat and it got destroyed to find what they're carrying floating in the water and making the effort to find/collect it. To make that a more common sight there needs to be more dangers in the water, i'd love to see an animal attack boats and stuff. I have no idea what that would be because crocodiles/sharks would be pretty dumb. But I feel the carp from Dwarf Fortress would fit the game
Yesterday I murdered a rock, beat up a stone. Hospitalized a brick, I'm so mean I make medicine sick.
