Those are some changes that come to mind, and I'll look into this a bit more, but I'm not sure there's much to be done. Loftar has already determined the cause of death to be starvation.

To ease user coping with death, you should have a unique experience for each type of death describing the nature of their death, together with an experience reward.

Geez, game is one month old and people are already asking for revivals. Sorry I have to agree with one of the posters, "revive or quit" is definitely an entitled thing to say when the devs have limited time and manpower. It's also in alpha.

Then please add and afk timer check. and force players to log out.

I fear there might be a problem on my end. so rather then finding out the hard way I'm "quiting"
and I already know their is plans for a world restart given the list you showed us, and the hinting you make (given the track record itll be sometime in Feb.
Just do us an honor. for those who played this world. give us a kilt in the next world ;)

According to the logs, it was. You logged in at 01:29:29 UTC and started playing Farmer Elwin. Farmer Elwin starved at 02:52:04 UTC, and then you logged out at 03:14:42 UTC.

Perhaps, but I'm not entirely sure that's desirable either. I sometimes enjoy being able to AFK for a while without being logged out.

How is that possible, doesn't the client terminate shortly after you die?

Seems pretty clear that he didn't just starve by mistake though, but I don't really agree that any accounts should be restored; that's the nature of eternal alpha isn't it

is it possible that a starving damage prevented him from an attempt to log out? (but not notice while he didnt properly log out?)

i think i remember original legacy default client forced log out chars after certain time of idling, and custom clients stopped auto logging out. was i dreaming?

@jorb, i found your comment very sincere, thanks.

I would assume that due to a bug, the client window was closed while the client process kept running. If such a thing were to happen, the game would seem to have closed correctly, only being visible by looking in Task Manager.

@maze, I tested with my alt and can confirm. If you x out of the client without doing the in game logout and you take a starvation tick of damage before your character leaves the game world, the game keeps you in, feeding you starvation ticks until you die. Horrible horrible random bad luck, I'm so sorry. This could have easily happened to me on multiple characters as i have logged out low energy too.
