I just had this happen to me. Was moving a barrel of water from inside my main area to a mine hole i had just constructed. a boar was walking along outside of my wall.

All areas, except the marked off green area, are flat. the walls and gates sit on flat ground. all gates were closed.

The wall that it was walking along were just erected less then 4 hours ago. so the soak wasn't up all the wall on them.

I'd have taken a screen shot, but I'm waiting to see if i'm still alive and/or hope the boar despawns.

I guess we'll have to look at it again.

another case of this.

boar was strolling around the wall. i happened to try to aggro it to see if it would work, said "Your path is blocked." or something to that extent. some time afterwards i went to plant a bush close to the wall. as soon as i planted it, the boar aggroed me, running up against the palisade. palisade is fairly large, about the size of a minimap, no gaps with a gate on one side and an airlock on another, both outer gates were closed. nothing peculiar about the terrain or anything.

What is actually being fixed that makes you think it isn't possible for an animal to aggro over a wall or any object that blocks line of sight? Is it just if they can't path to you they should not be aggroing? I ask because it seems to be animals simply have a range at which when you're close enough they detect your presence and either attack you or if you made them run already they will run off the other direction instead. If you aren't changing that I don't see how this can be fixed. Even if I were surrounded by stick fences outside my wall if a bear walks by me I am quite confident it will still aggro me.

it happened again. i think you're right. can't they just apply a path check to animals trying to aggro same as it does for us?

they can still hit through walls too btw.
