And yet I can think of other very popular games that have little to no documentation on anything. Why? It's a game of discovery. If players want to know the intimate details of every mechanic, let them figure it out. You don't need to know them to play, but some people like solving the puzzles.
That said, there are some things with Haven that probably are need to know that aren't well documented, thus making it difficult to figure out where the real bugs are.
